We are looking for a part time Registration Representative to work out of our La Crosse campus. Employee will be asked to work approximately 48 hours/2 weeks. Hours will fall during daytime hours on weekdays. If you are interested in this position, please apply and attach a resume!

Position description

The Registration Representative respectfully and accurately gathers demographic and insurance information, from both in- and outpatients to meet the needs of all departments and to see that the financial responsibility of each visit comes to the correct conclusion. The Registration Representative also schedules all appointments and maintains the resource schedules for both inpatients and outpatients, and provides clerical support for the clinical department. The Registration Representative will work with the Registration Supervisor, Lead Receptionist, and department Director to accomplish the above stated goals and will do so with professionalism, demonstrating the Mission and Values of Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare.


Minimum requirements include a high school diploma and the ability to operate computer software programs, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel. Preferred qualifications would include post high school education in business or health related field, a general knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance knowledge. BLS certification - (Minnesota Clinics) Skills The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to respond compassionately to the needs of all patients and co-workers. Must have proficiency in typing, the use of calculators, and multi-line phone systems. Must be able to work simultaneously on many and varied tasks and to prioritize the completion of each. Must be able to tolerate stressful situations, frequent interruptions, and the sights, sounds, and smells of a healthcare setting. Must be well-organized, pay careful attention to detail, and be flexible with regards to work environment and hours. Demonstrates strong teamwork skills and attention to detail. Consistently pleasant and helpful with strong customer service skills. Essential Functions Accurately schedules clinical appointments and maintains department schedules. Answers multi-line telephones in a friendly and professional manner. Coordinates the registration and scheduling processes with clerical support to facilitate the ongoing mission of the department in the most effective and efficient manner. Accurately completes all registration information in Electronic Medical Record Registration System. Consistently performs requests for point of service collection and demonstrates proper cash handling skills. Communicates and interacts appropriately with people of all ages, abilities, and cultures. Marginal Functions Assists with clinical department needs as necessary (i.e. phone messages, faxing). Willingly performs other work related duties as assigned.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $13.67 per hour.

Shifts will fall Monday-Friday, daytime hours. There are no set days off at this time and will be determined upon hire.
