2382BRDepartment:DIABETES & NUTRITION EDUCATION Position Overview:The Dietitian Certified Diabetes Educator (RD CDE) is responsible for providing nutritional services to patients, including: screening, assessment, making appropriate nutrition diagnosis, and implementation and monitoring of Medical Nutritional Therapy (MNT) and provides expert nutritional education and counseling to all persons’ with diabetes mellitus. The outpatient dietitian provides nutritional education to patients/customers as well as participates in community events offered by Winona Health and/or community organizations. The Dietitian CDE (RD CDE) is an expert in Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), providing advanced patient care within the specialty area of diabetes management. This position is recognized as an expert in nutrition and diabetes and functions as a clinical resource. Provides education/resources to peers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team, to enhance the quality of patient care and patient outcomes. Current Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE) or able to acquire within 2 years of employment. Basic computer skills to include Microsoft Office and electronic medical record (EMR).
